ADAMA Arts Salon is a series of conversations featuring contemporary artists, curators, scholars, and more from across the African Diaspora.

Join us for ADAMA's upcoming in-person Arts Salon. Clint Fluker to moderate a conversation with educator Navváb McDaniels. In connection to ADAMA's exhibition, A Sheild Against Darkness: The Art and Scholarship of Pellom McDaniels III, the conversation will center around the legacy of the former scholar, curator, author, historian, artist and athlete Pellom McDaniels III.

About Moderator: Clint Fluker serves as the Senior Director of Culture, Community, and Partner Engagement for Emory University Libraries and the Michael C. Carlos Museum. Clint is the co-editor of The Black Speculative Arts Movement: Black Futurity, Art + Design (2019), a collection that enters the global scholarly debate on the emerging field of Afrofuturism studies. Fluker is also the co-founder of ThrdSpace, a community engagement organization that creatively activates historic venues by collaborating with emerging artists, professionals and social activists.

Navváb McDaniels: A public health educator, currently working in the non-profit sector as a grant writer. She is the mother of two great young adults, and the widow of the incomparable Pellom McDaniels III.
